We had lunch today at the Taste of Marrakesh. It’s a Moroccan inspired restaurant. The food and service were both great. We had the small tacos which come with your choice of meat. I had lamb, elk and bison. Very good and included Harissa and Tzaki sauces. Dishes run $9 on up. Ours were $10 each. They also have kebabs, salads, gyros and more. They serve organic, clean food. This small restaurant is in the Bell Rock Plaza in the Village of Oak Creek. It’s tucked away next to a barbershop and adjacent to the parking lot of the Bell Rock Inn.
We had lunch today at the Schoolhouse Restaurant. It’s opened recently in Sedona (VOC) and is an off-shoot of the original Schoolhouse Restaurant in Cottonwood. Both are excellent.
Prices are reasonable, particularly for the quality of the food. The food was excellent, some choices for lunch were Pork Belly Tacos, Thai lettuce wraps, smoked salmon tortas, the perfect Reuben and many salads. Most items were about $9.50.
Dinner is a different menu and entrees average around $22. MENU
I was told that they are planning to discontinue lunch service soon but go to 7 days a week. Happy hour 3-5 and then dinner.
This is now our favorite restaurant and it’s even better that it’s in the Village of Oak Creek where we live. We have reservations for dinner on Saturday.

These excursions are possible thanks to the 100-year-old ranch’s uniquely qualified trail guides, the only ones in the area permitted to lead visitors through the scenic Red Rock District of Coconino National Forest. Each holds CPR and First Aid certifications, and can safely lead groups or private rides out on tours lasting up to three hours, either during the day or by moonlight. On each outing, they teach guests basic tenets of horsemanship, cowboy history, and cowboy culture, including the art of switching places with your horse to fool outlaws.
After trail rides, draft-horse-drawn wagons transport visitors to optional cowboy cookouts at an all-weather elevated site with panoramic views. Here, chefs serve traditional frontier fare such as 16-ounce rib-eye steaks, campfire chili, and dutch-oven cornbread, while visitors commune or listen to live country-western and rockabilly music. Though they entertain daily, the ranch’s staffers also perform vital tasks behind the scenes; they conduct regular trail maintenance and put proceeds toward preservation—efforts that have earned them a Wildlife Habitat Stewardship Award.
When it comes to wineries, Page Springs Cellars has it all. From massages in the vineyard to wine tasting, gourmet appetizers, & live music on the weekend. My friends and I have done it all and we keep coming back for more. The staff is very friendly and if you’re new to wine tasting, not to worry! They will help figure out the perfect wine for you. Inside the winery, it has a modern look with warm lighting and if you happen to stroll outside, there’s a scenic deck along the Oak Creek with plenty of seating throughout for everyone. I highly recommend the Wine Flight which includes a taste of 5 wines and a souvenir wine glass to take home all for $10. Page Springs Cellars is the perfect relaxing getaway after a long week and is only a 15 minute drive south of Sedona.
The other day we went for lunch at the Heartline Cafe. The atmosphere is excellent and the prices were affordable. Most importantly the food was excellent. I had the Chipotle Chicken Wrap which was very good and loaded with chicken.
They serve breakfast all day and they do have a lunch menu besides the full dinner menu. The menu is online and you can also reserve a table (recommended for dinner) on the website or give them a call.

quick stop at Harding Spring. You can drive right up to it and park next to it. It’s popular with locals who bring empty water jugs to be filled. I’ve met people from all over the Verde Valley and the Flagstaff area who frequent it.
Harding Spring is an Artesian Spring that is piped across the creek to the roadside of 89A. It has two taps that are always flowing and you can fill up a 5 gallon jug in a couple minutes max. The water is clear and cold and very good.
