DAY 9: GO TO AN IRISH PUB IN SEDONA

Mooney's Irish Pub - Sedona AZ

Sedona is more Cowboy than Irish but it does have an Irish Pub.  Recently we found this Irish Pub tucked away in the Hillside area, just across Oak Creek from Sedona.  Mooney’s Irish Pub.

It was a nice place to stop in at for a pint of Guinness (on tap) and some appetizers.  The food is actually cooked at Shugrue’s and sent down to the pub.  Mooney’s has an assortment of Irish style food.  Bangers and Mash, Irish Nachos (surprisingly good), fish and chips, Corned Beef sandwiches and more.  The night we visited the drafts were $5 and they have the mandatory dart board in the back.

I’ve been in a few pubs in Ireland and they usually have a pretty spartan decor.  Mooney’s is just like that.  Great place for a pint and it’s on the free Trolley route if you aren’t driving.

One Response to DAY 9: GO TO AN IRISH PUB IN SEDONA

  1. Jackie Boo says:

It’s about time Sedona got a Irish Pub… I mean Sedona was originally settled by an Irish immigrant. John James Thompson .. then 14 years later this couple named Carl and Sedona Schenebly showed up and named the town after his wife.
The Irish conquered it first and that is why Sedona has a St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival every year in memory of JJ Thompson the Irish immigrant. To clarify he was NOT FROM SCOTLAND he was IRISH.
